Governors Village based company to build Alabama Power's first utility-scale solar project
In the coming months Solar Strata, a Governors Village based company, will begin work on Alabama's first utility-scale solar project at Fort Rucker Army Base and the Anniston Army Depot.
Approval was granted by the Alabama Public Service Commission for a 10.6 MW AC solar facility at each location. Installation is scheduled set to begin in early 2016.
Markus Wilhelm, Strata Solar chief executive officer expressed his enthusiasm for the project by saying, "We are thrilled to be providing these high-quality solar projects to Alabama Power that together will put both the Anniston Army Depot and Fort Rucker Army Base closer to their energy independence goals."
