Bold Construction to Build 'Tiny Home' at Chatham Fair
Next month, Bold Construction will partner with Chatham Habitat for Humanity and Cross Disability Services (XDS) to build a 336 square foot model home at the 2015 Chatham County Fair. Bold will provide the labor while Habitat will fund the project.
The house is designed for individuals who struggle with some form of mental disability or illness. The $38,000 home will only take a few days to finish. Once the house is completed, XDS will transport it to their Chatham County headquarters.
XDS is a local nonprofit that offers support services and treatment to individuals with disabilities and mental illness. Thava Mahadevan, executive director of XDS, learned about Opportunity Village, an intentional village of tiny houses in Eugene, OR which allows homeless individuals and families to have stable, safe homes. Mahadevan hopes this new model home will only be the first of many tiny homes which can help those that he serves.
Bold Construction is located in Governors Village, next to Domicile Realty and across from the Bold Building. To read the full article visit the Chatham Post.
