Ironman Competition on Sunday!
Governors Village residents should beware of traffic congestion due to the Ironman 70.3 this weekend. The event will begin with a 1.2 mile swim at Vista Point of Jordan Lake on Sunday morning. Afterward, the 56 mile bike race will lead cyclists through Chatham County to Wake County, where the competition will end with a 13.1 mile run that loops twice throughout downtown Raleigh, finishing in City Plaza at Fayetteville Street.
The impacted roads in Chatham County will include North Pea Ridge Road, U.S. Hwy. 64 East, Beaver Creek Road, Pea Ridge Road and U.S. Hwy. 1.
